The Garden Museum is thrilled to welcome three new members to its Board of Trustees: Nicola Saunders, Hazel Gardiner and Jeremy Clay. These new Trustees will help steer and shape the future of the Museum at an exciting time of growth and development.
Nicola Saunders – Director, Business Improvement & Innovation, Arts Council England
“I am thrilled to be joining the Garden Museum as a Trustee. I have long been a visitor to the museum so I’m incredibly happy that I will be able to bring my passion for gardening along with my experience of working in the commercial side of the museums sector to the board.”
Nicola joined the Arts Council in 2018 as Director, Business Improvement & Innovation, in the Enterprise & Innovation team. With her team she is responsible for supporting business innovation in the sector, developing and promoting alternative investment mechanisms such as social impact loans and equity investment and leading on Arts Council’s environmental responsibility work.
Nicola has spent more than 20 years working in the Creative Industries. Prior to joining the Arts Council she was the Head of Publishing, Rights & Images at the National Portrait Gallery London, where she oversaw the Gallery’s award-winning publishing programme, co-edition sales, trade sales and marketing, alongside image licensing, merchandise licensing and intellectual property.
Hazel Gardiner – Florist, Broadcaster
“The opportunity to help attract a new audience of young, diverse individuals to the horticultural world, as well as expanding on the wealth of digital possibilities to encourage greater accessibility, is hugely exciting. The Museum has been a sanctuary for me on so many occasions and it is a real honour to be in a position to help shape its future.”
Hazel Gardiner is an event florist, broadcaster and gardener. Working with internationally renowned brands her work embraces the mixing of materials, mediums and styles often inspired by her dual heritage. She has experience in large scale event design and installation, creative marketing and digital content creation. Hazel is committed to attracting a new, more diverse audience to the wonders of the natural world by promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and diversity in her work.
Jeremy Clay
“The Garden Museum is a great resource for those, like me, with an interest in the history of gardens and garden design. I am therefore honoured to serve on the Board of Trustees at what is an exciting time for the Garden Museum and look forward to contributing to the Museum’s continued growth and success.”
