Constance Spry’s Wedding Flowers Revolution
Flowers by Flower Decorations Ltd. were fast becoming the sine qua non of every smart society wedding and party in London and the home counties, with newspapers and magazines reporting their latest creations in minute detail. Spry was revolutionising wedding flowers. She employed a team of skilled traditional florists who could delicately wire fresh flowers, creating the stylishly light, elegant, jewel-like creations she dreamt up.
In this film, curator and dress historian Amy de la Haye looks at how Constance Spry revolutionised the fashion for flowers at society and royal weddings.
