Houseplant Festival Workshop: Propagation with Fay Davies

This workshop is part of the Houseplant Festival which runs Sat 22 – Sun 23 October 2022.

Growing a whole new plant from just a section of leaf or piece of stem has got to be one of the most fascinating things about plants. In this propagation crash course, we will show you how to turn your plant shelfie into a full indoor jungle – covering lots of fascinating intricate techniques and secrets of plant propagation, Fay will show us how to take leaf petiole, leaf lamina and node cuttings and the best tools to use.

After the workshop you will leave bursting with ideas and knowledge as well as all the plants you have propped in the workshop. This workshop is perfect for experimenters, beginners, and seasoned propagators who want to refine their skills.

Fay is currently training to become a Botanical Horticulturist at RBG Kew where she is in her second year of the prestigious Kew Diploma.

For 5 years she worked as a gardener before swapping temperate plants for more tropical species at Conservatory Archives. There she headed up their in-house plant health service and propagation workshops. Her love of propagation has been the driving force behind her career.
