Spring Plant Fair Workshop | Starting Seeds

There is nothing quite like seeing a seed germinate to excite the gardener within us all. The benefits of growing from seed run deep: seeds can be one of the most economical ways to bulk up a garden, annuals give the spirit a stiff garden needs, and you can find many more plants by seed than you can find at any garden center.

Often the sowing of these tiny pips gets unnecessarily overcomplicated. Let’s go over the basics of effective sourcing, seed sowing, pricking out, growing on, and saving seeds plus take home a small pot of seeded joy.

Workshop hosted by Daniel James, a gardener in London. Originally from California where he farmed cut flowers for over ten years before moving to the UK. Most recently he spent a year working in the nursery at Great Dixter.
